I got a cold frame for my birthday. It was a really cold spring and summer this year, and this little cold frame worked wonders for salads. Unfortunately it wasn’t robust enough, and the autumn winds destroyed it later in the season — but it was good enough to prove the need for one.
The concept seems great and it was a nice addition to our little garden. We’ll build new ones from real windows for next season. I’m hoping to have it done by the end of January so we can do some winter salad sowing to kick-start the season.
