Making more tomato plants from cuttings is super easy. A tomato cutting will root if you just place it in a glass of water. I stumbled onto this when I accidentally broke a small branch off my indoor tomato plant.

How to:
- Cut a small branch from your tomato plant.
- Put the cutting in a glass of water. Wait a few days until new roots show up.
- Plant the cutting in a small (~6cm) pot and water regularly.
- Re-pot after about three weeks, once it’s bigger and the new roots are getting crowded.
It’s a good way to make unlimited “reproductions” of your favourite tomato, without actually having to start over from seed. And if your tomato plant is growing too tall, you can cut it and root the top in the same way — almost magic how easily you get two plants instead of one.
No rooting hormone needed, by the way — just sticking it in water does the trick.
